Audition Requirements
Auditions are held annually in April for the following school calendar year. Rolling admissions are also offered to students who wish to join mid-season. Selection for California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is based upon an individual’s talent and potential, regardless of race, religious belief, or any other status. Senior Orchestra
- Any 3 octave scale for string instruments; any 2 octave scale for winds and brass instruments.
- Choice of any solo repertoire which demonstrates technical facility and lyrical expression.
Associate Orchestra
- Any 2 octave scale.
- Choice of any solo repertoire.
