Summer Camp

We hold our Summer Camp the first week of August at Walden West. Summer Camp is mandatory for Senior Orchestra members.

This is a time for the students to spend a week long intensive rehearsal to learn the music for the upcoming season. This camp is the building block towards a successful season. During this camp two sectionals with our individual coaches and two full rehearsals with our music directors are held each day. Individual lessons and practice times are scheduled throughout the week as needed. Near the end of camp first seating auditions are held.

 In addition to practicing and learning the season’s music, Summer Camp is a time for members to get to know their fellow orchestra mates. Activities like a Talent Show, Campfire, and Movie Night gives time for the students to get to form the friendships and bonds that will carry into the season and even beyond it.
